Where settings live
Core secrets and environment settings are stored in config.php (not .env). Application preferences that users can change live in the dashboard.
- Database, mail, and OAuth credentials: config.php only
- Theme and language: navbar selectors or user settings
- Plan limits and quotas: subscription / admin tools
Operational checklist
- Confirm HTTPS and clean URLs work for /dashboard and /screen/{id}
- Keep LiteSpeed restarted after .htaccess changes
- Verify file ownership for infoskjerm.newstargeted.com after deploy
- Review Activity Logs after major configuration changes
Never commit secrets. Rotate any credential that was pasted into chat, tickets, or public repos.
